1. Acetaminophen (Tylenol):
    • Use: Pain relief and fever reduction.
    • Effects: Can cause liver damage if taken in excessive amounts.
  2. Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin):
    • Use: Pain relief, anti-inflammatory, and fever reduction.
    • Effects: Can cause stomach ulcers and kidney damage with long-term use.
  3. Amoxicillin:
    • Use: Antibiotic for bacterial infections.
    • Effects: Can cause allergic reactions, gastrointestinal upset.
  4. Metformin:
    • Use: Management of type 2 diabetes. In type 2 diabetes, there are primarily two problems. The pancreas does not produce enough insulin — a hormone that regulates the movement of sugar into the cells. And cells respond poorly to insulin and take in less sugar.
    • Type 2 diabetes used to be known as adult-onset diabetes, but both type 1 and type 2 diabetes can begin during childhood and adulthood. Type 2 is more common in older adults. But the increase in the number of children with obesity has led to more cases of type 2 diabetes in younger people.
    • Effects: Gastrointestinal issues, vitamin B12 deficiency with long-term use.
  5. Amlodipine:
    • Use: Treatment of high blood pressure and angina.
    • Effects: Can cause swelling, fatigue, and dizziness.
  6. Atorvastatin (Lipitor):
    • Use: Lowering cholesterol levels.
    • Effects: Muscle pain, liver enzyme changes.
  7. Albuterol (Ventolin):
    • Use: Treatment of asthma and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
    • Effects: Can cause jitteriness, increased heart rate.
  8. Omeprazole (Prilosec):
    • Use: Reducing stomach acid, treating GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease)
    • Effects: Can cause headache, gastrointestinal issues.
  9. Lisinopril:
    • Use: Treatment of high blood pressure and heart failure.
    • Effects: Can cause cough, high potassium levels, kidney function changes.
  10. Simvastatin (Zocor):
  • Use: Lowering cholesterol levels.
  • Effects: Muscle pain, liver enzyme changes.
